Attention All CTC members! Come join us at the 37th Annual Saint Patrick’s Day Parade on Saturday, March 13, 2004. Our theme this year is "The Magic of Terriers"! Our float will be decorated on both sides with panels that depict terriers of all kinds frolicking magically with leprechauns. There will be a rainbow stretching across the float, flowers and vines across the top railings, and perhaps even a pot of gold or two if you are lucky enough to find one!
The Parade will step off promptly at 10 a.m. from the formation area at Northside Middle School, and proceed north on Granby Street to Ocean View. The float must be in position and ready to go by 9 a.m. CTC members and their dogs should be in position no later than 9:30 a.m.. When you arrive at the parade grounds, there will be Parade Marshalls (the people in the green jackets) there to guide you to our float location. Please come dressed in black pants and either the CTC green sweatshirts you purchased for the parade, or any kind of green top (turtleneck, sweat shirt, button down shirt, sweater, etc.). This gives our group a more uniform look. You may dress your dogs in anything with a Saint Patrick’s Day theme, and please feel free to be creative! In addition, the CTC will provide members and their dogs with shamrock necklaces to wear. These will be provided on the day of the parade. If you don’t have anything for your dog to wear, we will also have decorative green scarves for them at the parade.
As always, the parade sponsors ask that we keep our pups leashed at all times, and that we bring provisions to clean up after them. Also, it’s a good idea to bring a source of water for your dog, as it is a long parade. If you or your dog are unable to walk, there will be plenty of room and comfortable seating on the float.
